WordPress Migration Services: Move Your Site to Better Hosting
Stuck on slow hosting, an unresponsive developer, or a host you can't reach? We move your WordPress site to our servers, test everything before the switch, and keep it backed up and maintained from then on.
How it works
How our WordPress migration service works
A migration touches your website, your domain, and often your email. We plan each piece so your customers don't notice the move.
01
Check access first
We confirm who controls your domain, your current hosting, and your WordPress login before anything moves. That's where most migrations get stuck, so we sort it out up front.
02
Back up everything
We take a full backup of your files and database, so there's a clean copy to fall back on at every step.
03
Move and test on staging
We copy the site to our servers and test it on a staging copy: pages, forms, plugins, and checkout if you sell online.
04
Switch over
Once everything checks out, we point your domain to the new server and confirm the site loads securely.
05
Check and maintain
After the switch we recheck forms, redirects, and SEO settings, then keep the site backed up, updated, and secure on a care plan.
Protecting your rankings
What we check so search rankings carry over
Search rankings are tied to your pages and their addresses. Keep those intact through the move, and the new host shouldn't change how Google sees your site. These are the six things we confirm on every migration.
Google's guidance on moving a site without changing URLs covers the same ground.
✓
URLs stay the same. Any page that has to change gets a 301 redirect.
✓
SEO settings move intact. Titles, descriptions, and indexing settings come over as they are.
✓
Search Console sees the site. Your sitemap is in place and submitted.
✓
SSL is active. Every page loads securely over https.
✓
Forms still work. Every contact form sends to the right inbox.
✓
Email keeps flowing. The email records on your domain stay pointed where they belong.
Questions
WordPress migration FAQ
Will my website go down during the migration?
We test the site on our servers before switching your domain over, so the switch is the only moment that matters. Downtime is usually short. We run the migration at the most opportune time to avoid disrupting your audience.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Rankings depend on your URLs, content, and settings. We keep those the same, or redirect any URL that has to change, and check Search Console after the move.
How much does a WordPress migration cost?
Sometimes we move a site for free, depending on the other services we're providing. Otherwise we charge a simple hourly rate, typically $250 to $1,250 depending on the site's complexity and size. After the move, care plans average between $150-$750 a month.
How long does a migration take?
Downtime is usually short and we execute it during low-traffic hours and/or days.
Can you migrate a site we can't log into?
Sometimes. If you control your domain but can't get into your hosting or WordPress admin, we'll work out what can be recovered. In some cases a rebuild is the faster path, and we'll tell you up front.
